Lauren & Adam
Saphire EstateLauren and Adam’s late September wedding at Saphire Estate was framed by the vibrant colors of early fall. The gardens were lush with blooming mums, and their wedding palette of warm fall tones blended perfectly with the natural backdrop, creating an atmosphere that was perfect for a romantic fall celebration.
From the Bride & Groom
“We met in our junior year of college as my roommate was Adam’s cousin. We remained friends until they reconnected four-years after college after moving into the same neighborhood in South Boston. Sarah was our officiant on the wedding day, which was very special for us! Adam proposed at my family’s place on Horseneck Beach in Westport, MA.
We knew we wanted our color scheme to be very fluid, and did not want our bridesmaid dress to be the same. They wore any dress they felt the most comfortable in with a fall or terracotta color scheme. They are from Show Me Your Mumu, Reformation, & Revelry. Adam knew from the beginning that he wanted a green tuxedo. His look is from State & Liberty, and the groomsmen’s tuxedos are from The Black Tux.
Initially, we weren’t sure if we wanted a large wedding. We looked into a lot of large AirBnBs for a family-only weekend, but when it came down to it, we didn’t want to leave anyone out, so a wedding venue made the most sense for us. We knew we wanted an onsite outdoor ceremony. Saphire Estate was the first venue that we could actually picture ourselves getting married at. We had originally toured one of Saphire Event Group’s other venues, The Villa, and the sales team suggested we take a look at Saphire Estate. We drove to Saphire Estate with no expectations, but fell in love with the separate cocktail space, the beautiful ceremony courtyard, and comfortable bridal suite. We chose Saphire Estate for its full-service package and the assistance of planning such a complicated event was built in. The space was stunning and elegant in a simple kind of way, and the staff was incredibly helpful from the start.
We took dance lessons for our choreographed first dance and only told a few people. It went by in a flash, and was such a fun surprise for us and the guests! We also forged our own wedding bands at a metal casting workshop held at StonyBrook Metal Arts School. We were able to make our own inscriptions, and bend, shape, polish, and weld our rings into what they are today!
Working with Saphire Event Group was incredibly efficient. They have their wedding formula down to a science. Our event producer was prompt in her responses, and provided advice when we needed it. We really felt like she had our best interest in mind at all times.”
If you could give a piece of wedding planning advice to a newly engaged couple, what would it be?
“Any of the small things that you are stressing about will not matter on the day-of. Stick together on the day- your memories will be the same, and it’s easy to get side-tracked if apart. DO A FIRST LOOK. The time is limited as it is, you want to be at as much of the party as possible!”
Lauren & Adam’s Best Marriage Advice:
“Always assume the best in one another. Don’t keep score- you’re working towards a shared goal!”
