Saphire Estate

The historic Saphire Estate is the ideal venue for a winter wedding in Massachusetts. From snow-covered grounds to elegant (and toasty) fireplaces, Jen & Jake had the perfect backdrop for their January wedding day!

From the Bride & Groom:

“We met in college at the University of Maryland in October 2014. After college we did long distance and then finally moved in together in Omaha, Nebraska. Jake is from New York and I am from Massachusetts, so it was a big change to live together for the first time in the Midwest. We got engaged at the Lauritzen Botanical Gardens in Omaha, Nebraska on March 19, 2022. We now currently live in Kansas City, Missouri.

I grew up in Needham, MA with family all around the Boston area. We wanted to have our ceremony and reception at the same place. We looked at other estates, as we wanted that family, intimate feeling. We fell in love with Saphire Estate the minute we walked in the door, before we even started our tour. We loved the modern, clean look. It was everything we were looking for!

We wanted the color scheme to be very simple and elegant. We had all white flowers to really capture our winter wonderland vision. Our colors were navy, white, and silver. The men wore black tuxes from The Black Tux, and bridesmaids wore dresses from CocoMelody in navy velvet.

Jake works in baseball so we knew we wanted to incorporate something for that. He frequently enjoys ice cream helmet cups at ballparks so we had our own helmets cups made for the ice cream sundae bar. His sister (Sage and Sea Ink) created the monogram and then my dad (All Right Mailing and Printing) printed them onto helmet cups!

Saphire was amazing to work with throughout the whole planning process. We didn’t get a wedding planner because Saphire truly answered all of our questions, and they were always available to chat and give advice! Saphire’s team is awesome all the way from touring and booking to day-of event staff.”

If you could give a piece of wedding planning advice to a newly engaged couple, what would it be?

“The stress of wedding planning is all worth it!!! At the end of the day you get to marry the love of your life.”

Jen & Jake’s best marriage advice:

“Find and hold precious, peaceful moments together. The quiet morning when you make breakfast together, the lazy afternoon where you don’t have plans, and the calm evening curled up on the couch.
