Jacqueline & Orlando
Saphire EstateThis elegant December wedding at Saphire Estate featured gold accents, bright florals, and all the romance! We loved the energy Jacqui & Orlando brought to their big day and the sweet nod to the holiday season in their wedding decor.
From the Bride and Groom:
“We first met when I started work as a hostess at the restaurant Orlando worked at. When I first met him, he gave me this big smile, and I immediately thought, “That man is trouble!” Turns out, he was very good trouble.”
Orlando proposed on Valentine’s Day, my favorite holiday. We went out to dinner, and I asked the waitress to take a picture of us. Then I heard her say, “I’ve never had to take a video before,” and I got very suspicious. Orlando said she didn’t know what she was talking about. We took our pictures and went home…then he proposed. I foiled the restaurant plot!
My ivory wedding dress was from Alexandra’s. My lovely bridesmaid’s dresses were from David’s Bridal in color “golden.” Orlando’s tux and groomsmen’s tuxes were from Mr. Perry’s Tux. Knowing we were doing a winter wedding, we wanted to create a warm and romantic feeling, so I thought burgundy and deep purples—soft white to tie it all together.
When we toured Saphire Estate it was the perfect blend of modern elegance with that estate feel. I loved the fireplaces, especially for a winter wedding. Saphire Estate was the first and only venue we toured in person. We saw it in winter, and it looked beautiful with the clear lake across the way and snow on the ground, yet it was warm and inviting inside. We knew we didn’t need to see any more venues!
We really wanted to do a choreographed first dance. I was determined we weren’t going just to stand and sway for three minutes! So, we choreographed a dance ourselves and spent many nights practicing.
Saphire Event Group was amazing to work with. Our Event Producer kept us on track regarding timelines and decisions to be made and was always available to answer my many questions. It was so nice to have day-of staff that cared for everything, so I didn’t even have to think about it. Leading up to the wedding, I was going a million miles an hour planning decor, coordinating guests, and getting everything into place. It was such a relief just to show up that day and see everything executed to our vision and not have to do a single thing.
If you could give a piece of wedding planning advice to a newly engaged couple, what would it be?
“Pick your venue first, and let the decisions center around that! I would also suggest keeping your bridal party small. You can always have your special people be involved in other ways!”
Jacqui & Orlando’s best marriage advice:
“Don’t take the good things about your partner for granted, and be sure to tell them frequently what you love and appreciate about them!”
