7 Things We Love About Saphire Estate | Saphire Event Group

1. Saphire Estate’s story.

In 1977, Gerald and Roberta Saphire purchased the historic lakeside Massachusetts estate and established the Saphire Manor and Inn – Already an iconic vacation destination for celebrities, vacationers, and tourists for decades of Massachusetts summers. Rumor has it that renowned American conductor Leonard Bernstein played the Estate’s ballroom in the 1930s!

The Saphire’s son Jonathan and his wife Amie took over the property and business in 2008, investing nearly one million dollars to update and transform the space into a gorgeous wedding venue saturated with quintessential New England charm. Over the years, the Saphire family company has grown into multiple uniquely charming venues, and Saphire Estate has grown with it. Keep reading to find out just how special this historic lakeside venue truly is.

2. The recipe for a perfect cocktail hour.

In 2018, Jonathan and Amie completed a new cocktail space that elevated the estate to a truly ideal spot to tie the knot. Perfect for any season, the cocktail lounge seamlessly compliments the historic charm of Saphire Estate. The elegant indoor lounge features a balance of classic and modern styles, and holds a marble fireplace, delicate chandeliers, dark hardwood floors, high ceilings, gorgeous natural light, and of course a beautiful bar!

The outdoor cocktail space features gorgeous landscaping and gardens, stone pathways, and a heated walkway that leads from the lounge to the estate’s ballroom. With its classic New England-style exterior, blossoming foliage, and winding paths, this space is intentionally designed for a dreamy outdoor cocktail hour.

3. The incredible outdoor ceremony space.

Take a moment and visualize your first kiss as spouses. Is there an orange and gold backdrop of a Massachusetts autumn, or a spray of pastel peonies and baby’s breath swirling around you? Are hundreds of friends and family cheering you on, or are your closest hearts just a few feet away, sharing in that moment with you? A perfect moment is always possible in the outdoor ceremony space at Saphire Estate. The delicate pergola can be personalized in a million different ways, or left bare as an elegant pop of white against the lush gardens. Nature itself provides a gorgeous backdrop to an outdoor ceremony at the Estate, no matter the season!

From cozy winter ceremonies to epic dance parties, the ballroom fireplace has been an iconic feature of Saphire Estate for decades. This classically elegant ballroom feature is a favorite of our clients, and for good reason; it elevates every event, no matter the style or aesthetic.
