Kelsey & Justin

The Villa | Madera Ballroom

This gorgeous November wedding perfectly matched the rustic elegance of the Madera Ballroom at The Villa. Kelsey and Justin made most of their rust and terracotta-inspired decor by hand, and their hard work truly paid off!

From the Bride and Groom:

“Justin & I met in high school; we went to the same school and also worked at a pizza place together in our hometown. We’ve had a relationship of 10+ years! In June 2021 we welcomed our first child, and in November Justin proposed. We had family photos planned on a beautiful fall day at the Eleanor Bradley Estate, and Justin got down on one knee during those photos so the moment was documented beautifully.

The color scheme for our wedding was terracotta, rust, and fall colors. I knew I wanted a terracotta-themed wedding; it’s my favorite color and I love the fall. Our wedding party attire was from Revelry and Generation Tux. I chose different textures and fabrics for the dresses, in different shades of terracotta, cinnamon, and rust.  For suit rentals, we chose the British Tan option with a cinnamon rose satin tie. The dresses and suits complemented each other perfectly!

I knew from the beginning I wanted to create my own centerpieces using dried florals. Over the course of two years, I thrifted vases of different sizes and shapes, and then spent hours painting these vases to look like terracotta clay pots. It was a lot of work, but they came out exactly how I envisioned. Arranging the dried florals was my favorite part! They looked incredible. We also made our backdrop, seating arrangement, and seating chart. Our Jenga guestbook was also a hit!  Now when we have a game night we are able to re-read everyone’s notes and it reminds us of our special day.

The Villa was the first venue that we toured when we started wedding planning, and ultimately we booked that day. The Madera Ballroom was exactly how I envisioned my wedding; the rustic, cozy feel was exactly what we wanted. There was no hesitation!

Working with Saphire Event Group was a great experience. Our wedding producer was absolutely amazing; the day wouldn’t have gone smoothly without her. She was my lifeline and I am so grateful to her for making the wedding planning process flawless!”

If you could give a piece of wedding planning advice to a newly engaged couple, what would it be?

“Do whatever YOU and your spouse want. It is your day, nobody else’s. Everyone will have their opinions, but in the long run, you are the ones remembering  the day forever, so do what you want as a couple.”

Kelsey & Justin’s best marriage advice:

Continue to date each other. Life gets busy, but make time for a date night at least twice a month.
