Abigail and Jose

The Villa | The Tent

We are in love with every detail of this October wedding at The Villa. From the perfect crimson, orange, and gold backdrop of New England’s foliage to the lush white florals and delicate green decor accents, Abigail & Jose’s wedding in The Tent was truly show-stopping.

From the Bride and Groom:

One of Jose’s childhood best friends, Noel, became one of Abby’s college roommates. In July 2018, Abby and Noel took a trip to California and stayed with Jose for the last few days of their trip. They hit it off and have been together ever since! In November 2022, Jose proposed in Yosemite which is their absolute favorite place to go and holds memories of their favorite days together.

We decided on a green and white color scheme with a pop of gold. We chose those colors early on as we wanted a classic and timeless theme! Abby’s bridesmaids’ dresses were a beautiful shade of olive from Birdy Grey, and Jose and his groomsmen wore charcoal tuxedos from Men’s Warehouse with green floral ties from Tie Bar. Abby’s wedding dress was Essense of Australia purchased through Alexandra’s Bridal Boutique and Jose wore the same tuxedo as his groomsmen.

While we live in California, Abby grew up in Massachusetts and we knew we wanted to come back and get married in New England. Right off the bat, we loved The Tent. We were the most excited that we could have the best of both worlds with the lawn allowing for a backyard feel, and The Tent itself allowing for a more formal event.

Ultimately, we chose The Tent at The Villa because we could have our whole event in one place and the venue supplied so many of the essentials like the food, bar, and a wedding producer. Working with the Saphire Event Group team was amazing. Our wedding producer kept us organized and on track while also lending her thoughts and advice when we were stuck or needed guidance. Our bridal attendant was a huge help on our wedding day as well, easing our anxieties and protecting our bubble when we wanted time to ourselves and to really soak in our wedding day!”

If you could give a piece of wedding planning advice to a newly engaged couple, what would it be?

“Align on what you feel is most important to have in a venue: guest count, location, etc. Just because something is “traditional” in a wedding ceremony or reception does not mean you have to keep it if you don’t want to! Our wedding producer was great at helping us customize our day and timeline so it had the exact feel we wanted.”
