In our line of work we are fortunate enough to see many beautiful moments—best man toasts, romantic “I do’s,” and dance floor twists and twirls—are all a regular part of a hard day’s work in the world of event management. Once in a while, our team gets excited about something completely different: the chance to give back to the community when we hold our annual “Saphire Event Group Gives Back” employee event.
This holiday season SEG chose four local deserving families to give $500 worth of gifts (each!). Donning red shirts and armed with each family’s Christmas wish list, our entire team descended upon the local Target store this past December. (We didn’t want to spoil the surprise—so we saved our news for the New Year!). We joyously filled cart after cart with gifts, all sponsored and paid for directly by Saphire Event Group.
The say generosity feeds the soul, and indeed the entire team loved gathering gifts for others as much or more than receiving them.
We then took the haul back to the beautiful ballroom at Saphire Estate, which we converted into a make-shift Santa’s workshop, hand-wrapping each carefully selected gift. Wrapping was half the fun! With each item beautifully wrapped, the team was delighted to personally deliver all of the gifts to the deserving families.
Working together is part of what makes a team a team. However, it’s giving together that warmed all our hearts, even in this cold Massachusetts winter.
Of course, there’s more to the holiday season than just giving and receiving gifts. Our team walked away from the event filled with the genuine spirit of the season and looking forward to holding this event again next year.
Owner Amie Saphire summed up the sentiment when she said, “Being able to help families in our local community is the best way to come together as a group and celebrate the holidays. It’s a perfect reminder of what this season is truly about!”
We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout the year, making it possible for us to give back to others in the community as well. By giving and receiving we share joy: and that kind of warmth during the holiday season is truly contagious!
