From the Bride and Groom:

We met on the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend in 2016. We were both out with friends and ended up at the same bar, Loretta’s Last Call. Dave spotted me from the dance floor, pointed at me and motioned for me to join him. I did, and we instantly hit it off! We spent the rest of the night laughing and dancing. The following week we had our official first date at Yard House, and have been together ever since. After five years of dating, Dave proposed on a beach in Florida during sunset. It was the perfect proposal and I of course said “YES.”

Dave and I went back and forth about wedding colors many times, and we had a really hard time deciding. One day I asked Dave what he thought about doing dark green suits. We looked up some pictures and both loved it! However, dark green suits were extremely hard to find! After going to about five different suit stores, Milton’s in Braintree found a dark green swatch for a suit they could order. We were so excited that we found what we were looking for and could do a dark green and ivory color scheme for our wedding.

When looking for a venue, we wanted something that could accommodate an indoor or outdoor ceremony and that wasn’t too far for our families to travel to. As soon as we saw Madera Ballroom we both could envision our wedding there.

Our wedding felt so personal and special because of all of the ways our family members were included. My aunt created our centerpieces, my brother built the arches for our photo area, Dave’s uncle officiated our ceremony and also printed the invitations I designed, my mom walked me down the aisle, and I shared a dance with my brothers in memory of our father. There were so many aspects of our wedding that made it feel unique and special just for us.

Saphire Event Group was wonderful throughout the entire process from the very first day we toured the venue. They were quick to respond to any questions I had, and constantly sent emails to check in to see if there was anything they could do to help throughout the planning process. Victoria was our Event Producer and I cannot rave about her enough. She made sure every single detail was the way we had envisioned it, and allowed us to enjoy the day without worrying about anything. I felt confident that she had everything taken care of.

If you had to give a piece of wedding planning advice to a newly engaged couple, what would it be?

Do what YOU want!!! It doesn’t matter if what you want is non-traditional or if family members don’t agree, it’s YOUR wedding day! Do what is going to make you happy and comfortable, not what anyone else thinks!

Casey & Dave’s best marriage advice:

Even though we have only been married a couple months, I think the best advice is to listen to each other and communicate your feelings. Never assume what your partner is thinking about or how you think they’ll react, and don’t assume that they know how you are feeling about something without telling them. Just be as open and honest as possible!
