Kaymarie + Erik

The Villa | Grand Ballroom

Kaymarie and Erik got engaged in the Mojave Desert. During their trip to Nevada, Jay had planned to pop the question overlooking the sunset at Red Rock Canyon. But when a dark cloud appeared, the last of the sunlight faded away, along with Jay’s original plan. Although Jay had to improvise, the moment was still special, private, and romantic.

Out of all of SEG’s venues, the couple chose The Villa’s Grand Ballroom for their celebration. “I remember walking on the property for the first time,” Kaymarie reminisced. “The outside was beautifully landscaped and the inside projected feelings of warmth, class, and intimacy.” Plus, since they were planning on having a big guest list, The Grand Ballroom gave them all the space they needed.

Kaymarie and Erik originally scheduled their date for October of 2021. Unfortunately, that meant the Covid-19 pandemic forced them to reschedule. “It was a huge balancing act to make the best decision picking our date, keeping our guests safe, complying with state laws, and ensuring most of our loved ones were there to celebrate with us,” said Kaymarie. As the saying goes, “The best things are worth waiting for,” and this situation only made their wedding day feel more special.

During this time of uncertainty, the pair realized how important their Event Producer had become. “We found the in-person meetings very useful to go over details and help us visualize our big day,” said Kaymarie. “After we left those meetings, it reassured us that we had made the best decision picking The Villa.”

One of their favorite moments during planning was attending one of SEG’s group tastings. Almost like a little date, the two were able to sample our menu, sip champagne, and meet some staff. These events are scheduled three to four months out from your wedding and are a great way to get a sense of our style, presentation, and quality in an event setting.

After almost eight months as newlyweds, Kaymarie and Erik couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. “Our favorite part of our wedding day was seeing all our friends and family having such a great time on the dance floor. After a few tough years, it was nice to see everyone dancing, mingling, and enjoying great food.”
