Miranda + Jay

The Villa | Madera Ballroom

Sparks started flying when Miranda and Jay met one night at a college party over ten years ago. Sipping on White Russians, the two talked all night and felt an instant connection. After the party, Jay walked Miranda home and coincidentally left his backpack behind in her kitchen. Later, Miranda found out this was Jay’s plan so he could see her again (Sneaky, yet romantic!). After ten years together, when Jay got down on one knee, all Miranda could think was, “finally!”

When the couple started searching for their wedding venue, they knew they wanted something that felt rustic and modern. Their décor was filled with classic tones like greens, champagnes/creams, and blues. They chose these classic colors because they wanted to look back years from now and still love everything about their big day.

The Villa was their first and last venue tour because they immediately fell in love. Out of all three venues within The Villa, Madera Ballroom excited them with its exposed beams and rustic charm. They kept their décor minimal, with accents of gold and low centerpieces, but went for a statement flower wall with a neon sign that read “Better Together.” To add personality, they made sure to put Jay’s prized first-place fantasy football trophy he won after 15 years on display.

Looking back, Miranda’s favorite part of their wedding was their first look. “The moment of finally getting to hold each other on our wedding day after ten years of dating is an amazing feeling,” said Miranda.

The pair couldn’t thank us enough for our help. “The Villa knows exactly what they are doing,” said Miranda. “From the beginning, we knew we could trust them to help us create our vision for our special day.”

Now that they’ve been happily married for two months, they wanted to share their own advice. “Remind yourself that whatever happens, that day is going to be perfect because you’re marrying your best friend in front of all your favorite people.”
