Emily & Dat
AvenirEmily and Dat’s June wedding at Avenir was a breathtaking celebration of love, filled with the soft hues of lilac and sage green. Their summer outdoor ceremony embraced a garden-inspired wedding theme, with lush florals creating a romantic backdrop.
From the Bride and Groom:
“We first met at a birthday party for Dat’s friend. A mutual friend invited me to go, but I was pretty quiet since I was new to that friend group. I was talking to my friend about a new job I was interviewing for, and since Dat is a recruiter, he offered me advice and suggestions on how to nail the interview. My birthday was also coming up, so Dat took that opportunity to send me a happy birthday DM, and we texted for eight months before our first date.
The bridesmaids got their dresses at Azazie & Stacees. I wanted their dresses to be in different fabrics to add some texture. Some of them wore chiffon, and some of them wore satin. The groomsmen got their beige suits from Generation Tux and accessorized with suspenders, lilac bow ties, and pocket squares.
The most important thing we looked for when searching for a venue was capacity. We had a large guest list of 280 guests, so we wanted a space where everyone would fit and be comfortable. We chose Avenir because of how spacious the ballroom was with its high ceilings. We appreciated that the venue only hosts one wedding at a time, so we didn’t have to worry about running into other guests with multiple events. Some other important features we looked for in a venue were: the taste & variety of food, parking and accessibility, staff to help us and the wedding party, and bar packages.
We had bilingual wedding invitations and several multicultural ceremonies for the wedding. We had a church ceremony for our religion, a tea ceremony for our culture, an outdoor ceremony for us, and a reception for our loved ones!
Working with the staff at Avenir was great! Our event producer was accommodating and made the process much easier leading up to the event and during the wedding. The food was great, and we received many compliments about the wedding!”
If you could give a piece of wedding planning advice to a newly engaged couple, what would it be?
“Make sure you have a list of non-negotiable photos you want and let someone know about that list!
