Wedding Themes: Bringing The Outdoors In

Do you envision a whimsical wedding filled with gorgeous greenery and stunning florals? If the beauty of an outdoor wedding makes your heart skip a beat, but the sheer thought of having your wedding ruined by rain or a triple digit heat wave keeps you up at night, keep reading. Of all the wedding themes we have explored, bringing the outdoors in, might be our favorite one yet!

A Tented Wedding:

Having a tented wedding allows you to experience the best of both worlds. Enjoy the natural beauty of the outdoors while being shielded from the hot sun or rain. There are various tent styles, some have open sides, while others are completely enclosed. Another newer wedding tent option is a clear top tent, which gives an unobstructed view from both inside and outside the space. Keep in mind, some tented weddings will require more planning and vendor coordination than others. While it may seem ideal to create your dream wedding in your childhood backyard, remember, you’ll have to bring in everything from tables and chairs to food, drinks and even silverware. While this certainly can be done, especially with the help of an experienced wedding planner, there are also other more inclusive options at several wedding venues in MA.

The Villa in East Bridgewater, is known for its stunning tented ballroom with custom chandeliers, a fabric draped ceiling and large dance floor. The space has one side that opens to the gorgeous grounds complete with a relaxing lounge and chic fire pit. The tent also includes all the luxuries of an indoor space, including a large bridal suite, full stationary bar and well-appointed bathroom facilities.

Indoor Wedding:

If you feel more comfortable selecting an indoor ballroom, you do not have to sacrifice beautiful outdoor style. Perhaps you might consider a daytime wedding and select a venue with large windows that let in natural light and offer views of the outdoor surroundings. Whether your wedding is held in the afternoon or the evening, bringing the outdoors in can all be done with décor! From garlands of greenery to birch tree centerpieces, the options are endless.

Gorgeous Greenery:

Nothing screams natural beauty like gorgeous greenery. Incorporating garlands of green create an organic look that is absolutely stunning. Hanging greenery from unexpected places, such as a chandeliers, can add a whimsical touch to your ballroom space. Using mostly greens to decorate your wedding will work well with any color palette from a pale blush pink to a vibrant purple.

Garden Chic:

Flowers, flowers, and more flowers! If you love a colorful garden, incorporating some beautiful blooms into your space can add that something special. Springtime favorites such as roses, peonies and lilacs can truly bring the outdoors in with a lovely pop of color. You simply cannot go wrong with floral décor. From fireplace mantles to centerpieces, your room will look and smell amazing.

Trees:

In a large ballroom, tall centerpieces can take your space to the next level. (literally!) We love seeing beautiful birch tree branches tower over tables to create a show stopping reception. Another spring favorite is the cherry blossom tree. Bringing in potted cherry blossom trees to anchor your ceremony is sure to make for some picture perfect snapshots. For a more understated look, incorporating tree stumps paired with your table number and lots of candles come together to create a rustic, yet romantic outdoor vibe.

Unique Details:

Set the tone for your wedding theme in your invitation design. From watercolor flowers to hand sketched greenery, impress your guests with custom designed invites. When selecting your day of wedding details, be inspired by nature. Leaves, geodes, and succulents can all be made into beautifully unique place card displays. You can also bring the outdoors into your wedding cake design by adding real or sugar flowers to match your centerpieces. If you choose the more rustic birch tree decorations, have your cake designed to look like a birch tree trunk! Finding hints of your wedding theme throughout your day will delight your guests from start to finish.
