Ashley & Billy

“Billy and I met a little over eight years ago. We both worked at the same restaurant. We had the same group of friends but it wasn’t until the Bruins won the Stanley Cup in 2011 that our relationship really blossomed over our love for hockey. We also learned early on that we both shared a love for the beach, hence why we bought our first house together down the Cape. And then in 2018, I had planned a surprise 30th birthday trip for Billy in Myrtle Beach. Little did I know, the surprise would turn on me and Billy proposed that weekend!

As soon as we returned from Myrtle Beach, I started researching venues and had seen pictures of The Villa and reached out to Saphire Event Group. That’s when I learned of the two other properties owned by SEG, specifically Saphire Estate. As soon as we arrived at Saphire, we knew it was the venue for us. When I asked Billy ‘why did we choose Saphire Estate?’ his answer was, “the cookies!” Yes, the cookies, but also the location, the staff, everything was about it perfect!

Our wedding day was also beyond perfect! I was so nervous we wouldn’t be able to have our ceremony outside in the beautiful garden area under the arbor because it literally rained every day in May, except for May 18th. Our day was absolutely perfect – the weather was amazing, the staff (especially Emma!) was phenomenal, everyone raved about the food, and again, those cookies were oh so yummy! We can’t thank SEG enough for making our wedding day so great! Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
