Amber & Danny

Saphire Estate

“Danny and I met through both our friends’ encouragement of joining Plenty of Fish, an online dating site, when I was living in Connecticut and he was living in Massachusetts. I initiated the conversation and after a month or so of chatting, we held our first date in Providence, RI. We dated long distance for a year, then I took the leap of moving to Cambridge, MA. Best decision ever! We further developed our wonderful relationship and then after dating about three years, he proposed to me on our second trip to Costa Rica. We were on a boat, surrounded by the beautiful sunset and dolphin-filled waters.

Originally, we planned for an intimate destination wedding in Puerto Rico, but the hurricane hit hard and we had to make a quick, last minute change to our plans. We knew we wanted to be married in the warm summer weather, near the water. We began looking at local vendors, and getting suggestions from friends and family. We toured Saphire Estate on a very snowy December afternoon, and without a clear image of the flowered garden space, or green-filled trees, we found the venue to be very charming for our special day. The space was not only beautiful, but had a feel of intimacy to it, which was exactly what we wanted, even after agreeing to extend our guest list to double our original plan. We enjoyed the hospitality during our visit, and were confident our event would be managed with care.

Aside from marrying the love our lives beside our closest family members and friends, it’s hard to say what our favorite part of our wedding day was. It was such a blissful blur! We can confidently say that we enjoyed the fully bloomed gardens which hosted our ceremony and cocktail hour, beautiful lake views as the sun set during cocktail hour, our great event coordination staff (shout out to Madison!), and the reception space which accommodated our vision for the decor. Not a single thing got in the way of Danny and I having the most memorable day of our lives to date.”
