South Shore Wedding Venues: Location, Location, Location!

If you grew up in the Bay State, chances are you may be clued in on the well known rivalry between the North Shore and South Shore. While it’s always a great debate over which towns make up the two famed shores, it can be easily defined by cities near the shoreline both north and south of Boston. While the disputes have carried on through generations over which is home to the best beaches, food, real estate, and schools, when it comes to weddings, there is no better locale to say “I do” than South Shore Wedding Venues. If you are wondering why South Shore, MA wedding venues are the way to go, keep reading!

It’s the classic Green Acres conundrum. Are you looking for a highrise ballroom in the heart of the hustle and bustle with sweeping city views? Or perhaps you envision exchanging your vows in a gorgeous garden with views of a sparkling waterfront. If outdoor space is a must, a South Shore wedding venue might be perfect for your big day. South Shore wedding venues encompass a variety of options such as secluded estates, country clubs, waterfront properties and more.  At Saphire Event Group, we are proud to own two South Shore wedding venues, the Saphire Estate and The Villa.

Saphire Estate: With breathtaking lakeshore views, a romantic courtyard, impeccably landscaped gardens, and a stunning ballroom, Saphire Estate represents classic romance at its finest.

The Villa: With professionally landscaped and stunning grounds, the three distinctive ballrooms are sure to provide the perfect match for your wedding day vision. The Madera Ballroom features stunning wooden beams and two bookend fireplaces. The Grand Ballroom features a breathtaking 16 foot linear fireplace and beautiful lounge that rivals even the most exclusive of venues in the city. For a tented reception complete with a spectacular outdoor lounge and fire pit, The Villa’s gorgeous tent offers a beautiful fabric draped space with a large dance floor and elegant chandeliers.

Despite our differences I think one thing both the North and South Shore can agree upon is every Bostonian loves their food. Having amazing food and a wide variety of choices is a wedding reception must. When planning your South Shore wedding there are a few local favorites to consider. The first thing that comes to mind is the New England staple, Lobster. The South Shore is known for its amazing seafood and having lobster at your wedding might seem like a no brainer. Whether you choose to start with a Lobster Bisque soup sip or offer a full on surf and turf plated meal, incorporating Lobster into your menu gives your guests a true South Shore novelty. Seafood aside, the South Shore is also well known for its thin crust pizza. Offering a Pizzette Station at your cocktail hour puts a fun wedding spin on this south shore pub classic. A party wouldn’t be a party without a good cocktail, are we right? Another South Shore staple are the famous cranberry bogs. A fun way to incorporate this local South Shore attraction into your wedding is a cranberry signature cocktail.

Hosting a wedding outside of a major city such as Boston can offer you the best of both worlds. You are close enough to all the downtown attractions, but your South Shore venue will often have a few non-city perks.

Parking: Most venues will have ample parking for your guests. You will not have to worry about guests circling city blocks looking for a spot, or having to pay high prices at hotel parking garages. While most city venues should offer a valet service, you can be sure this expense will be included in your overall pricing and fees.

Accommodations:  Whether your guests are from out of town or just want to have a good time and stay the night, city hotels can get pricey. Having a South Shore wedding venue with local accommodations will offer more reasonable pricing.

Attractions: With many local beaches as well as Cape Cod and the Islands, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard, just a stones throw away, your guests will have plenty of options to explore. If taking in the downtown culture is on their list of must-sees, Boston is only a short car or train ride away.

Although we may be a little biased, can you blame us? South Shore wedding venues have so much to offer both you and your guests. From local flavors and traditions to picturesque landscapes, choosing the perfect south shore wedding venue is an important step in your wedding planning process. We invite you to visit our two family owned and operated venues and see for yourself why they are among the most desired settings on Boston’s South Shore.
