Wedding Flowers by Season: Spring Blooms | Saphire Event Group

There is nothing quite like a spring wedding. And if you’re anything like us, you cannot hear the word spring, without thinking of gorgeous flowers. The season of growth and new life, a time when many trees and plants begin to bloom; the options for spring blooms are plentiful. With so many stunning options to choose from, deciding on the perfect flowers for your spring wedding can be a little overwhelming.  We have narrowed down our five favorite spring blooms to get you started.

Our Favorite Spring Blooms

Peonies

There is something about a puffy pink peony that makes our hearts skip a beat! If you swoon over peonies like we do, you’ll be happy to know that Spring is the best season to get these lovelies. Peonies are the perfect Spring Blooms to bring a soft, romantic vibe to your big day. From simple bouquets to outrageous table arrangements, we just can’t get enough peonies for a Spring wedding.

Love this look: Some other Spring blooms that offer a similar look with perhaps a more managable price tag are Garden Roses and Ranunculus. Both equally as gorgeous and romantic.

Lilacs

Lilacs have to be one of the loveliest spring blooms. Whether you have them cascading in your bouquet or styled on a long wooden farm table, they truly bring an effortless look to your spring wedding decor.

Perfect Pairing: We absolutely love pairing lilacs with leafy greenery and succulents to create an arrangement that brings rustic and elegance together seamlessly.

Cherry Blossoms

These picture perfect spring blooms create a breathtaking backdrop for any wedding. Saying “I Do” among one of nature’s true beauties is sure to make your wedding photographer jump for joy! If you are planning an indoor spring wedding, bring the outside in with tall arrangements adorned with cherry blossoms. They will add height and springtime glamor to any ballroom.

Keep in Mind: If you are planning your wedding flowers by season and are not having a spring wedding, you will likely miss the short two week bloom cycle for cherry blossoms. Don’t worry, plan your engagement photos to catch them in bloom and display the pictures throughout your wedding.

Tulips

Nothing screams springtime like a beautiful bouquet of tulips! These spring blooms come in many varieties, making them a perfect option for your wedding. Larger, French tulips come in subtle creams and light pastels, while smaller Dutch tulips come in more vibrant colors.

Design Tip: Try arranging varying shades of tulips in an ombre pattern to create a modern spring look. Or create a show stopping installation by hanging them upside down form the ceiling – #obsessed!

Icelandic Poppies

Icelandic Poppies are the perfect way to brighten up your spring wedding décor. Shades of blush, tangerine, and yellow come together for the ultimate spring palette! Vibrant florals look stunning for an outdoor wedding and bouquets of poppies bring a fun, yet natural vibe.

Movie buffs: Any Wizard of Oz fans out there? If you are a fan of this classic movie, consider this unique spring bloom.
