Lauren and Steve: Carrying on a Wedding Date Tradition

Steve and I chose June 3rd as our wedding date, continuing the date’s tradition harking back to June 3, 1902 when Steve’s great grandparents were married. The tradition continued on when his grandparents were married in 1931 on the same date, and then continued on to the third generation when his parents were married on the date in 1966. Neither of Steve’s older brothers or his older sister carried on the tradition when they were married, so it was important to Steve that we continue it. As my family does not have a date tradition and I did not have a special date in mind, I was more than happy to help further the tradition for a fourth generation. We are very honored to be able to be a part of this 109 year tradition and hope that someday our children will further it along.
