From Runway to Wedding: Fall 2012 Makeup Trends
The high fashion world has a tendency to take anything and everything to the extreme. However, since they’re always the first on the trend scene, we thought we’d take a deep dive into the looks they kept putting on the fall runways and translate them into fabulous wedding looks.
Sleek, Neatly-Parted Updo
Partial to hair that is pulled back, but dislike an updo weighed down with curls and product? The Marc by Marc Jacobs show proved that sometimes less is more. Stick with this hairstyle and not only will you look timeless, but guests will be more drawn to your actual face.
Brown Smokey Eyes
We’re huge fans of the smokey eye, but an eye smoked out with black shadow can look harsh. If you want to attempt a softer version of the look, try brown shadows, like this Burberry model did.
The lip is a little daring, but done the right way, it looks b-e-a-utiful. We swooned a little over this model’s look at the Rochas show and think the color would look perfect at a fall nuptual.
Here’s a look for all you brides-to-be that love a little rock n’ roll. No, it’s not permanent! It’s just a little temporary sass. Sephora is chock full of it (hehe), so give it a try! If you hate it, you can always bring it back.
Creamy Neutral Nails
Keep things looking natural with neutral polish colors, ranging from nude to taupe. Nails like these were featured at the Nahm show and were perfectly elegant on the runway, so we’re certain they would look just as lovely on your big day.
Single Braid Detail
Both loose, textured hair and braids have been so popular in recent wedding seasons, so why not combine the two? Rachel Zoe went crazy for the look and had all of her models sport the look on the catwalk.
Full, Defined Eyebrows
Kiss those tedious eyebrow sessions goodbye! We’re so happy to see the full brow back in style. Don’t believe us? Ask the people at Christian Dior what they think! They styled the beauty below.
Elborate Hair Adornments
SO PRETTY. Whether you rock a barette like this Rodarte fashionista, a fabulous wreath or an eclectic headband, we are absolutely obssed with the way this hair jewelry looks!
